OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A weak weather system is moving west across Florida and could reach the northeastern Gulf by late Tuesday. While the National Hurricane Center (NHC) says that it’s not likely to become a tropical storm, it’s bringing scattered showers and storms to Florida, the Bahamas, and parts of the southeastern U.S.
NHC forecasters say there’s only a small chance this system will develop into anything more serious. Still, heavy rain could lead to localized flash flooding in parts of Florida, including Ocala and Marion County, through the middle to end of the week.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. High near 95. Heat index values as high as 106. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 2 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. High near 90. Heat index values as high as 103. Calm wind becoming northeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Tuesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 73. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Wednesday: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. High near 90. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
Wednesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 74. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
