A passionate career
Dr. Farr has been practicing in Ocala since 2008 and prior to that was a resident of Boca Raton. He attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale. He then completed his orthopedic residency training through Michigan State University. Following residency, he was accepted and completed the prestigious orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the Miami Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute under the direction of world-renowned surgeon Harlan Selesnick, MD.
Achievements, honors, and recognition:
During his 2006 fellowship year, Dr. Farr was assistant team physician with the NBA world champion Miami Heat where he took care of many high-profile athletes. In addition to sports medicine and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Farr provides the most advanced techniques for a variety of orthopedic injuries. He has specialized training in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. Since being in Marion County, Dr. Farr has become the first surgeon to perform a reverse total shoulder replacement for advanced arthritis and rotator cuff disease.
Dr. Farr prides himself on his skills and knowledge. He has the most experience with robotic surgery utilizing the Mako robot. In 2020, He performed more robotic surgeries in one day than anywhere else in the world. He has been recognized internationally for this achievement and is proud to provide this cutting-edge technology for his patients in central Florida and beyond. Dr. Farr finds it very important to give back to the profession he loves and is an active part of the orthopedic teaching faculty at HCA Ocala Hospital, where he trains orthopedic residents. While Dr. Farr takes pride in his profession, he also enjoys time away from the office spending time with family, traveling and fishing the Gulf Coast waters.
