CCFR says one occupant of the home received burns to their face, arms and hands.
The 28-member team left Marion County Fire Rescue Operations and headed to Cecil Field in Jacksonville.
“If you choose to stay and things change for the bad, you are putting your first responder’s life in danger unnecessarily,” states the department in its Facebook post.
The hospital, on its Facebook page, announced that it has sent home patients who are stable and moving those who need ongoing care to other facilities nearby.
The stalls and campsites are free to use, but owners should bring their own shavings.
Citrus, Dixie, Hernando, and Levy counties are currently under evacuation orders from emergency management.
Duke Energy states that it is boosting its workforce by bringing in teams from its Midwest operations in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, along with local crews.
“Those doors are going to open tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.,” says Leah Tong, WEC director for marketing and brand.
The new date of the event will be Sunday, October 20, at 3 p.m.
Citrus County Fire Rescue says they are unsure when the event will be rescheduled.
