Court date set for retired firefighter battling for cancer coverage

Lt. Phillip Shinn filed a lawsuit against Marion County seeking benefits he believes he’s entitled to under state law providing active and retired firefighters coverage for treatments for 21 types of cancers. Shinn has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is on the list of covered cancers.
