Alachua County

  • Rezoning Community Input Session originally scheduled for Aug. 28 at Santa Fe High School has been postponed.
  • Rezoning Community Input Session originally scheduled for Aug. 29 at Kanapaha Middle School has been postponed.
  • Alachua County Special Board Meeting originally scheduled for Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. has been postponed.
  • Alachua County Public Schools and district offices are closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Santa Fe College (SF) will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • University of Florida (UF) classes are canceled beginning at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and continuing through Wednesday, Aug. 30. All academic and student-related activities, including online classes and exams, will also be canceled during this time.
  • Walmart Distribution Center closing today at 4 p.m. Associates will report back to work Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m.

Citrus County

  • A local state of emergency has been issued by the Citrus Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).
  • A mandatory evacuation order is in place for Evacuation Zone A until further notice. This includes all low-lying areas west of US Highway 19, as well as some additional areas to the east.
  • Other areas are encouraged to voluntarily evacuate, especially residents in mobile homes and RVs.
  • Non-essential county offices will close at noon, Monday, Aug. 28 and remain closed through Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Citrus County Public Schools will have a half day on Monday, Aug. 28, and will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • The College of Central Florida (CF)’s Citrus Campus will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Gilchrist County

  • Voluntary evacuations are encouraged for residents in low-lying areas and mobile homes.

  • Gilchrist County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Hernando County

  • Voluntary evacuations are encouraged for all areas west of US, 19, which includes evacuation zones A, B and C. All residents living in coastal and low-lying areas, as well as manufactured homes countywide, should consider evacuation.
  • Administrative offices at the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Hernando County courts will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Hernando County Public Schools will be closed from Monday, Aug. 28 to Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) will be closing Monday, Aug. 28, at 5 p.m. and remain closed through Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Lake County

  • Lake County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Lake County plans to reopen schools on Thursday. Extracurricular activities are canceled for Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Levy County

  • A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for the coastal areas of Levy County, including Cedar Key, Yankeetown, Fowlers Bluff, Fanning Springs and other areas prone to storm surge. Evacuations should be completed by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
  • Anyone on Cedar Key must evacuate the island, as the bridges cannot withstand storm surge and will become impassable.
  • All Levy County public offices will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30, including the Court House and Judicial services.
  • All county boat ramps will be closed at end of business today, Monday Aug. 28.
  • The Cedar Key airport will be closed.
  • Levy County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • CF’s Levy Campus will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Marion County

  • New: Marion County Emergency Management has activated a Citizen’s Information Line. Call 352-369-7500 for any questions about Hurricane Idalia. Use this line for non-emergencies only.
  • Marion County Sheriff’s Office Central Operations building and district offices will close at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and remain closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Marion County Animal Services closed on Monday, Aug. 28 and will remain closed until further notice.
  • Florida Department of Health in Marion County will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • The Fifth Circuit Courts in Marion County will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • City of Dunnellon business offices will close at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and remain closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • The Federal Courthouse will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, and remain closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Marion County Property Appraiser will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and remain closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Marion County Clerk of the Court will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • All Marion County offices and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Ocala Police Department Headquarters lobby will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • City of Ocala business offices and public facilities will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • Marion Senior Services, including Marion Transit and dining sites, will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • SunTran bus routes will be suspended beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29 and remain closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • City of Ocala residential and commercial sanitation routes will be suspended on Wednesday, August 30. The suspended routes will experience a one-day delay.
  • City of Ocala Downtown Parking Garage parking restrictions will be lifted until Tuesday, Sept. 5, which includes allowing visitors to park in the garage overnight.
  • All Marion County Recycling centers and the Baseline Transfer Station will be open on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Recycle Centers and the Baseline Transfer Station will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30 and reopen on Thursday, Aug. 31.
  • Marion County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.
  • CF’s Ocala Campus, Hampton Center, Appleton Museum and Vintage farm will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30.

  • Overnight parking is available until Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the downtown parking garage located at 296 S.E. Broadway Street. Golf cart parking is still prohibited. Spaces for hotel guests are also still restricted.

Sumter County

  • Certain county offices will close on Wednesday, Aug. 30 but are expected to reopen Thursday, Aug. 31, weather permitting.
  • Sumter County Board of County Commissioners’ Offices will be closed Wednesday.
  • Sumter County Clerk of the Courts Offices will be closed Wednesday.
  • Sumter County Library System (All locations) will be closed Wednesday.
  • Sumter County Property Appraiser Offices will be closed Wednesday.
  • Sumter County Supervisor of Elections Offices will be closed Wednesday.
  • Sumter County Tax Collector Offices will be closed Wednesday.
  • Sumter County Veterans Services Offices will be closed Wednesday.
  • Wildwood city-contracted trash collection will occur as scheduled on Tuesday, but Friday service will be delayed until Saturday, Sept. 2.
  • Sumter County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. All extra-curricular activities will also be canceled those days.
  • Sandbags are available at Lake Panasoffkee Regional Recreation Park, 2589 CR 459 in Lake Panasoffkee from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Self-service.
