ALACHUA, FL (352today.com) – The race for a seat on the Alachua City Commission went the way of the incumbent.
Jennifer Blalock received 409 votes (55%) in Tuesday’s election, winning the majority and beating Eric L. Ford’s 336 votes (45%) for Seat 5 on the commission, according to the City of Alachua.
Blalock has held the seat since 2021 and will be sworn back into office during the commission meeting on Monday, April 22, at 6 p.m.
Once sworn, she will begin her second term as a commissioner. Terms are for three years.
