OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A multiple vehicle collision near mile marker 348 on I-75 northbound left one driver trapped inside of his car.
Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to the accident at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Friday.
A passerby told OFR that they witnessed a minivan veer off the road and collide with a box truck that was parked on the shoulder of the highway.
As OFR arrived on scene, they saw the minivan wedged underneath the back of the box truck and the driver was trapped inside.
OFR crews removed both of the minivan’s driver side doors and structural support to the vehicle’s roof, which allowed them to get to the driver.
They transported the minivan driver to the hospital as a trauma alert patient. A person in the box truck was also transported for evaluation.
