OCALA, FL (352today.com) – This one goes out to all the people who’ve commented on the pertinent stories, sent us emails and even asked some of us in person if we knew the actual opening date for the new BJ’s Wholesale Club just off 200 in southwest Ocala:
We finally know.
(And wow, are some of you into warehouse retail clubs—this is like our fourth story about this BJ’s.)
The members-only retail club at 7030 SW 59th Ave. will open to the public this Friday, October 23, 2026, after a final blockbuster promotion coming this Wednesday, Oct. 21: $2 gas for all local members.
Yep, the pumps are in, and everybody who joined the club at the company’s “membership center” in anticipation of the new location (and everybody who’s already a member) can get $2 regular 87-octane gas on Wednesday. The promotion is limited to 30 gallons, and runs from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
And yes, they will be signing up new members during the promotion, and those who sign up on-site will also get the deal.
BJ’s is also still signing up new members at its membership center in Ocala, and offering some pretty sweet perks, including $10 back on every $100 purchase new members make during the first 90 days after the club opens.
BJ’s was founded way back in 1984 in Massachusetts. (It was actually a subsidiary of the Zayre corporation. Anybody remember Zayre discount department stores?) The new Ocala location joins one other BJ’s Wholesale Club in the region; that one’s in Lady Lake, at 13585 NE 86th Ct.
