OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is looking to go up, up and away from the competition for this year’s best-looking cruiser award.
On Monday, FHP announced it’s entering the 2024 American Association of State Troopers (AAST) ‘Best-Looking Cruiser’ competition.
FHP enters this year’s competition as the defending champion and the holder of the title Best-Looking Cruiser in the nation.
In hopes of securing a back-to-back win, FHP has truly gone above and beyond with this year’s photo submission.
The snapshot depicts FHP’s Dodge Challenger patrol car with its traditional black and tan colors in the forefront of a rocket mid take-off.
The photo was taken at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex on April 18, 2024, during the final liftoff of the United Launch Alliance‘s Delta IV Heavy rocket.
“This year’s photo entry embodies Florida’s spirit of innovation and commitment to excellence, capturing iconic elements of our state. Space Florida is proud to support our state troopers in this competition and we hope to see Florida take home another victory,” said Rob Long, president and CEO of Space Florida.
Getting a great shot is only half the battle, FHP now needs your help by voting for their submission.
Online voting is open from now until July 29.
Along with bragging rights, the winning cruiser will grace the cover of the AAST 2025 calendar.
Proceeds from the calendar sales support the AAST Foundation, which offers educational scholarships to the dependents of its members.
“FHP is excited to participate in the AAST ‘Best-Looking Cruiser’ competition and we look forward to seeing what the other states have to offer,” said FLHSMV Executive Director Dave Kerner. “This year, our cruiser pays tribute to the legendary Delta IV Heavy rocket while showcasing our commitment to public safety and service. We encourage everyone to support us by casting their vote and helping us defend our title as the best-looking cruiser in the nation.”

Last year, FHP won first place with 180,000 votes for its photo of a cruiser with an alligator in the foreground. You can be sure other states will be gunning for the Sunshine State.
