OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The National Weather Service (NWS) has provided an update on a tropical wave in the Atlantic that is picking up momentum.
The storm, named “Potential Tropical Cyclone Five,” is currently located east of the Leeward Islands and is expected to become a hurricane “later this week,” according to the NWS.

While the storm is picking up speed, it is forecast to make an eastward turn in the Atlantic and steer clear of the Florida coast.
The NWS claims that “no direct impacts” from the storm are expected to hit the Sunshine State.
