SILVER SPRINGS, FL (352today.com) – A Silver Springs family lost their home and their fur-family member.
Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) crews were dispatched to a Silver Springs home Sunday, Sept.8, a little after 12 p.m. They say that the person who called 911 described flames shooting from the roof of a home on NE 130th Terr. and a lot of smoke. They also mentioned that there was a dog still inside the home.
MCFR says that the flames had reached the attic, requiring assistance from the Anthony, Rolling Greens, Silver Springs Shores and Fort McCoy stations. They say they were able to get the fire under control just after 12:50 p.m., but they were unable to save the family dog.
They say that the people who lived in the home were not there when the fire happened, and that no humans were injured.
MCFR shares that the fire is still under investigation, and that the American Red Cross had been called to help the family who lost their home.
