GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – One man is behind bars for his involvement in a Sunday morning shooting across from the University of Florida that left one woman with serious injuries.

The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) says 24-year-old Fabian Rivera of Ocala is currently being held at the Alachua County Jail on charges of attempted murder for his involvement in the shooting.

Officers say the shooting took place on the 1800 block of W. University Ave. behind MacDinton’s Irish Pub. The University of Florida Alert System reported the incident at 3:45 a.m.

According to GPD, the injuries to the woman hit during the shooting are described as “life-threatening.”

Alachua County’s inmate search says Rivera is awaiting trial with a felony charge for attempted murder and a misdemeanor charge for resisting officers. He is held without bond.
