BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview celebrates a successful Community Yard Sale supporting the United Way of Marion County.

The sale occurred at the Belleview Community Center on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and drew several hundred community members for a day of shopping, local deals, and connection.

The event included a variety of local artisans, small businesses, and residents selling handmade items.

The city donated all of its vendor registration fees to the United Way of Marion County, marking the first Belleview event in a series of fundraising efforts in the 2024 calendar year.

“It was wonderful to see so many people come out to support both local vendors and the United Way,” says Angilia Pittsley, who oversees the United Way fundraising program for the City of Belleview. “The yard sale was a great opportunity for Belleview to come together as a community, and I’m proud of the impact we’re able to make through this partnership.”

Along with the yard sale, Belleview has begun additional fundraising efforts including a candy sale at Belleview City Hall and the Belleview Public Works Office. There is also the upcoming Light Up Lake Lillian event on December 7, 2024, where items will be put up for sale and donations accepted towards the United Way of Marion County.

“The yard sale was a fantastic start, and it’s only the beginning of what we have planned,” says Robert Vass, Events and Promotions Manager for the City of Belleview. “We’re excited to announce that our city employees have already pledged over $2,000 in support of the United Way, and we’re looking forward to even bigger things ahead.”

Vass mentioned the Gregg Smith Automotive Car Show as another upcoming fundraising event. The event is scheduled for the city’s Founders Day celebration in May 2025.
