CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – In response to rising water levels and flooding along the Withlacoochee River, Citrus County has announced the closure of several boat ramps as a precautionary measure.
The closures will take effect at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, and will remain in place until further notice to ensure public safety.
The following boat ramps will be closed:
- Goldendale Ave.: 12199 N. Goldendale Ave., Dunnellon
- Spruce Dr.: 4863 E. Spruce Dr., Dunnellon, FL
- Trail’s End: 12300 E. Trails End Rd., Floral City
- Withlapopka: 10851 E. Gobbler Dr., Floral City
- Turner Camp Rd.: 9460 E. Turner Camp Rd., Inverness
Residents and visitors are asked to avoid these areas until conditions improve. The county says that it will continue to monitor water levels and reopen the ramps when it is safe to do so.
