OCALA, FL (352today.com) – On November 8, Ocala Police Department’s (OPD) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Detective Ridge arrested Anthony Enrique Diaz, 25, after a two-month investigation stemming from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
OPD says the tip revealed Diaz was storing multiple files of child sexual abuse material on an online account. They say a search warrant led to the discovery of the linked phone, containing numerous illicit images. Diaz now faces 20 counts of child pornography possession.
ICAC investigations often begin with cyber tips, explains OPD, progressing through subpoenas, search warrants, and evidence review, requiring weeks or months to ensure justice is served.
