OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Police Department (OPD) has announced the arrest of 21-year-old Tray Quarles after a threatening post on Facebook indicated plans for a mass act of violence at the today’s Light Up Ocala event.

Acting on community tips and their own investigation, OPD identified and apprehended Quarles, who now faces charges for a written threat to commit a mass shooting or act of terrorism. He is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.

In response to the threat, OPD has reassured residents of their commitment to public safety. The department has increased personnel for the event to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
