OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The College of Central Florida (CF) Patriots secured a 6-3 win over Lake Sumter State College on Tuesday afternoon in Ocala, using a deep bullpen effort to claim victory.

Pitching Performance

Six pitchers took the mound for the Patriots, with Kohl Kilcrease leading the way. Kilcrease pitched four innings—the longest outing of any pitcher in the game—allowing four hits, two runs, and recording three strikeouts.

Colston Altman (1-0) made a strong return from a prolonged injury, tossing a scoreless inning with just one hit allowed to earn the win. The bullpen continued to hold off Lake Sumter with:

  • Karson Lindsay (0.2 IP, 0H, 0R, 3 BB)
  • Cooper Ryan (1.1 IP, 0H, 0R, 1K)
  • Jay Jung (1.0 IP, 0H, 0R, 2K) – who closed the game and secured the save.

Offensive Highlights

The Patriots’ offense was fueled by Marcus Bradshaw, who went 2-for-3 with a bases-loaded double that drove in three runs. Victor Martinez added three hits, including a double, while Bruno Schafer chipped in with an RBI single.

With the win, CF improves to 23-7, while Lake Sumter falls to 18-13.

The Patriots now turn their attention to a key three-game Citrus Conference series against Santa Fe College. The series begins at home on Thursday at 3 p.m. before shifting to Gainesville for a Saturday doubleheader at 12 p.m.
