OCALA, FL (352today.com) – It’s National Coffee Day 2023, and several coffee hot spots are offering free or discounted java. With nearly two-thirds of Americans (63%) drinking coffee daily, according to the National Coffee Association (NCA), you’re sure to find your perfect brew at your favorite convenience store, local coffee house, or national chain.
The NCA shared that lattes, espressos, and cappuccinos are in a three-way tie for America’s most popular specialty coffee beverage, and that the most popular serving size is 12-15 ounces. If you like a shot of flavor in your coffee, it’s likely vanilla, followed by mocha, hazelnut, and caramel.
While the United States imports the most coffee and is expected to import 20% of the world’s volume of coffee in 2023-24, according to the US Department of Agriculture, we don’t even rank among the top 20 countries in terms of per capita coffee consumption.
According to WorldAtlas.com, the top-ranked coffee drinking country is Finland with 26.45 pounds of coffee consumed per person per year. The U.S. comes in at number 25 in the rankings with just 9.26 pounds of coffee consumed per person per year.
