OCALA, FL (352today.com) – An Ocala doctor is facing serious allegations after a patient accused him of inappropriate conduct during a recent appointment.

On March 24, Officer Bellamy with the Ocala Police Department (OPD) was called to the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida, located on SW 20th Place, in response to a reported battery involving a physician and his patient.

OPD says that the patient, a woman in her 50s, told them that her doctor, 65-year-old Jose Jacob, made her uncomfortable by asking personal questions during the visit. They also said that she claimed that after the exam, Jacob hugged her tightly and kissed her twice without her permission.

Police interviewed several people at the scene, including Dr. Jacob. While he denied the allegations, investigators say some of his statements were inconsistent. During the investigation, police also learned of previous complaints of similar behavior involving Jacob, both at the Ocala clinic and at a facility in North Carolina.

A warrant was issued for Jacob’s arrest, and he was taken into custody by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on March 28.

Ocala Police are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience with Dr. Jacob, or who has information about the case, to contact the department.
