OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Florida drivers may notice some relief at the pump this week. After a brief uptick, gas prices are trending downward again across the state.

According to AAA, the Florida average rose by 2 cents early last week but fell by 10 cents over the past four days. As of Sunday, the statewide average price for regular unleaded was $3.11 per gallon, the lowest average in two weeks.

“The recent drop in crude oil prices now appear to be impacting prices at the pump,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “The state average could drift back down near the $3 per gallon threshold this week.”

Behind the dip is a significant drop in U.S. crude oil prices, which have fallen by more than $7 a barrel, or about 12%, over the past two weeks. In the same period, gasoline futures declined by 24 cents per gallon.

Locally, some stations are already offering prices below the state average. As of Monday morning, two Circle K locations on SW State Road 200 in Ocala had regular gas for $2.86 per gallon.
