OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Police Department (OPD) says that officers responded to a reported purse snatching Monday afternoon in the parking lot of Six Gun Plaza.
According to OPD, a female suspect is accused of taking an elderly woman’s purse before fleeing the scene. A witness told officers the suspect was seen entering a nearby restaurant shortly after the incident.
Officers located and detained the suspect inside the restaurant. Detectives are continuing to investigate, and no charges have been announced at this time.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public, and that additional details will be released as the investigation progresses.
