Fleischhaker, a seasoned leader with extensive experience in economic development, steps into the interim role with confidence and familiarity, having worked closely alongside Sheilley. Her appointment is seen as a move to maintain continuity during a period of transition.

“Tamara brings the steady hand and trusted leadership our organization needs during this important transition,” said Charrisse Rivers, Chair of the CEP Board of Directors. “Her deep roots in economic development and her calm, capable presence provide the confidence and clarity we need as we move forward.”

“I’m honored to step into this role and help guide CEP through this important period of transition,” Fleischhaker said. “Our mission has never been more vital.”

The search for a permanent CEO is underway with the help of executive search firm Waverly Partners. In the meantime, the CEP board and staff say they remain committed to serving the Ocala Metro community with purpose and progress under Fleischhaker’s leadership.
