OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Donnie Tucker, district athletic director for Marion County Public Schools, has been honored with the 2025 State Award of Merit from the Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (FIAAA).
Presented on behalf of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the award recognizes individuals in each state for their dedication and contributions to school athletics. Recipients must demonstrate a sustained commitment to education-based athletics at both local and state levels.

Tucker, a Certified Athletic Administrator, has more than 10 years of experience in athletic administration. Since joining MCPS, he has led the district to NCAA eligibility and was instrumental in bringing the FHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championships to Marion County.
He currently serves on the FIAAA board, teaches at the state’s Leadership Training Institute, and is part of the planning team for the National Athletic Directors Conference for the second year in a row. Tucker previously served as athletic director at North Marion and Forest High Schools for nearly eight years.
The NIAAA, based in Indianapolis, has more than 16,000 members nationwide and supports state organizations like the FIAAA.
