MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – 39-year-old Marion County man Garrett Jamner was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Monday for traveling to sexually batter a 15-year-old girl.
According to an MCSO report, detectives were made aware on August 6, 2026, of a sexual battery on a child. A juvenile victim recounted that while in Marion County and visiting the Goodwill thrift store on West Silver Springs Boulevard with her grandmother, Jamner “showed extra attention to her,” ascertaining that she was underage and asking her for her Snapchat username.
Jamner allegedly began communicating with the juvenile online, including sexually oriented content.
The victim told detectives that Jamner traveled to her home. (The juvenile’s home location was not disclosed.) He allegedly picked her up, plied her with alcohol and a THC vape, and sexually battered her in a vacant lot near her home. The victim positively identified Jamner as her assailant via a photo lineup.
Authorities encountered Jamner through a traffic stop near his home in Ocala. After being detained, Jamner reportedly denied knowing the victim initially, “but ultimately admitted that he knew her, had sexually charged conversations via Snapchat, and traveled to meet her.”
Jamner was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond.
“Due to the nature of these crimes, detectives believe he may have additional victims,” read the announcement. “Anyone with information about other victims is urged to come forward and call Detective Lowder at 352-351-6408.”
