Ocala, FL (352today.com) – Outdoor Valor, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to healing America’s heroes, proudly announces a transformative milestone: more than 2,000 veterans have been served, with not a single reported suicide. At a time when veteran suicide rates continue to rise nationwide, Outdoor Valor stands as a beacon of hope—demonstrating that faith, community, and purpose can save lives.

New Programs Already Transforming Lives

Outdoor Valor is expanding its mission with three innovative, faith-centered initiatives designed to bring healing not only to veterans but to their families:

  • The Rally Point – A peer-to-peer brotherhood where veterans experience accountability, camaraderie, and renewed purpose through faith-driven support.
  • Vows & Valor – A lifeline for military spouses, offering encouragement, faith-based guidance, and a supportive network to strengthen marriages and families navigating the unique challenges of military life.
  • Operation Fresh Start – A holistic health initiative providing alternative therapies, outdoor recovery experiences, and spiritual care—all rooted in the power of hope and healing.

Early participation in these programs has already yielded powerful results, reinforcing Outdoor Valor’s unique ability to serve the whole veteran family unit.

Shifting the Narrative on Veteran Suicide

Recent findings from Operation Deep Dive, a multi-year study by American Warrior Partnership, Duke University and state health departments reveal the crisis is even more devastating than previously recognized: an estimated 44 veterans are lost every day to suicide or self-inflicted causes—more than double traditional VA reports.

Against this sobering backdrop, Outdoor Valor’s impact is extraordinary. By weaving together faith, outdoor therapy, and authentic community, the organization has not only offered healing but is measurably saving lives.

Founder Statement

“Reaching the milestone of over 2,000 veterans served—with zero reported suicides—isn’t just a number, it’s proof that faith, community, and purpose change lives,” said Matt Schwanke, Founder and Executive Director of Outdoor Valor. “When nearly 44 veterans are dying every day, our mission is more urgent than ever. We refuse to accept those numbers as inevitable—we know healing is possible, and we are committed to being part of the solution.”
