OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Downtown Market was host to its monthly Oddities Market on Friday, Sept. 19. This month’s market featured more unique and handcrafted goods from vibrant and colorful jewelry and themed shirts to taxidermy insects and wet specimens. For more local, handmade, unusual and fun items, this market is hosted monthly at the Ocala Downtown Market every third Friday.

Handcrafted jewelry is a recurring and popular item for vendors each month with unique styles, displays and materials. The jewelry displayed showed culture through the designs, dedication through the details and materials and catering to guests with fun additions and displays.

The market also featured handmade crafts from unique and detailed dream catchers and booklets to crochet animals and clothing. Vendors at the market this month displayed dream catchers with detailed depictions of trees with some featuring animals as well as a unique feature every month are booklets with detailed drawing of fantasy creatures like fairies, mermaids and more. More fantasy-based vendors included crochet animals and mythical creatures, unique clothing perfect for costumes and handmade potion bottles and display items.

A fun feature every month for a certain audience is bones and skulls, taxidermy and wet specimens. The market often features a variety of animal skulls and bones for jewelry, display and more. Another feature is taxidermy insects, often for displays to mimic how they would look in nature or fanciful settings. For the more unusual interests, there are also wet specimens for guests to take a look at or buy for display.

For those who like the aesthetic of the Oddities Market but are looking for more practical or food items, there are often vendors who sell t-shirts, cups, hot sauce, honey, baked goods and more. This month featured baked goods, t-shirts, cups and more for guests.
