GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) says they have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection to a shooting at the Value Lodge on SW 13th Street Tuesday morning.

Police say they responded to the motel around 11:00 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about shots being fired.

GPD officials say Travis McKenney shot another man in the upper part of his leg. The victim was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

McKenney was charged with attempted homicide and taken to the Alachua County Jail.

According to Alachua Clerk of Court records, he has an arraignment hearing set for November 2.
