OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a car crash near Liberty Middle School in southwest Ocala that may be related to an overnight shooting.
According to a statement on social media, two victims showed up at local hospitals who appeared to be involved in an overnight shooting.
A vehicle that reportedly may have been involved in the shooting crashed early on the morning of Thursday, October 22, 2026, in the area of 4900 SW 95th St. near the entrance to Liberty Middle School.
The statement, released just after 6 a.m., informed the public that some parents dropping off their kids for school may experience some delay as investigators completed their investigation.
MCSO stated that this was an isolated incident, and that there is currently no danger to the public.
