The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a United States and Canada bi-national organization that defends the homeland through aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning for North America. They also track Santa Claus, and have since 1955 when, according to legend and the Associated Press, a kid called them and asked to speak to Santa (either by misdialing or calling a misprinted number in a Sears circular), and the commander on duty had the kindness and inspiration to announce they had Father Christmas on the radar.
