OCALA, FL (352today.com) – An individual participating in an anti-ICE protest along E. Silver Springs Blvd. in downtown Ocala was reportedly struck by an SUV in the early afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026.

Dozens of protesters lined up along E. Silver Springs Blvd. beginning around noon on Sunday in the wake of the shooting of 37-year-old nurse and government employee Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minneapolis on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.

According to multiple reports, a male protester was struck by an SUV near the intersection of E. Silver Springs Blvd. and NE 1st Ave., and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Ocala Police Department investigation is ongoing.

A story posted to WCJB Channel 20 reported that a demonstration in support of the administration and policies of President Donald Trump began in the area not long after, and that neither event had applied for a permit or been pre-approved by the City of Ocala.
