GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Gainesville police say one shot was fired and no one was hit during an incident at Oaks Mall in Gainesville in the evening of Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026.
According to the police statement, authorities received multiple calls about an active shooter at Oaks Mall Saturday evening. When police responded, they determined that a male and female were shopping at Kay Jewelers in the mall when three other men entered the store and accosted them.
During the altercation, the male victim produced a handgun while falling to the ground and fired one shot. No one was hit. The four males involved immediately fled the scene.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies quickly located the victim a few blocks away and found a gun in a nearby drain.
The investigation is ongoing.
