ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic incident in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, along State Road 24 in Alachua County.

According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the 23-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound in the left lane of SR 24 just east of SW 56th Terrace at around 2:40 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. He was thrown off the vehicle and into the path of a tanker truck heading westbound in the right lane.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured in the incident. All lanes of westbound SR 24 were closed for an extended period of time overnight.

The crash is still under investigation.
