Dunnellon Deceased Person Case Now Being Investigated as a Homicide

Last night's response to a dead body near the Lake Tropicana area of Dunnellon has become an ongoing homicide investigation.

LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A social media post from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a report of a deceased person seen near 189th Ave. in Dunnellon on the evening of Tuesday, May 5, 2026, has been updated to announce that the MCSO is now actively investigating the incident as a homicide.

“Currently this case is being investigated as a homicide,” reads an update to the post. “Detectives identified the deceased as 29-year-old Henry Singleton. He was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound in the 3200 block of SW 189th Avenue near Dunnellon.
