OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Five individuals were transported to the hospital following a serious three-vehicle collision that occurred around 12:22 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the intersection of SW 67th Avenue Road and Southwest 38th Street.

Ocala Fire Rescue’s Engine 6, Rescue 6, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer responded to the scene after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision with entrapment. The accident involved a Ford Mustang, a Ford SUV, and a Honda SUV.

Upon arrival, crews found the Mustang with significant front-end damage obstructing the intersection, the Ford SUV with heavy damage to the driver’s side and front-end, and the Honda SUV resting next to the Ford with moderate damage to its driver’s side.

The driver and passenger of the Mustang were able to exit their vehicle on their own. However, the driver and passenger of the Ford SUV required extrication by firefighters. The single occupant of the Honda SUV also needed assistance exiting the vehicle.

Firefighters extricated the driver of the Ford SUV, as that door had been displaced during impact. However, access to the passenger side was impossible because the Honda SUV was wedged against it. Once the driver of the Honda SUV was safely outside of the vehicle, firefighters used the winch on Squad 7 to pull the Honda SUV away from the Ford SUV, allowing them to access and extricate the passenger.

All five individuals involved in the incident were transported to the hospital for further evaluation, with one person designated as a trauma alert due to the mechanism of injury.

Marion County Fire Rescue, the Ocala Police Department, and the Florida Highway Patrol were also on scene to assist with transport, traffic control, and incident investigation.
