LADY LAKE, FL (352today.com) – Shoppers in the Lady Lake area won’t have to wait much longer for a new grocery location.
A new Walmart Neighborhood Market in the Hammock Oaks development near the intersection of County Road 466 and Cherry Lake Road is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
The store is located just outside The Villages and has been under construction for several months as part of Walmart’s continued expansion in Central Florida. The neighborhood-format store is designed to focus primarily on groceries, pharmacy services and everyday essentials.
A grand opening celebration is planned for Wednesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring local leaders, Walmart associates and community partners. The event will also include giveaways, entertainment and special appearances throughout the day. According to event organizers, the first 300 customers in line will receive a $25 Walmart gift card while supplies last.
The opening comes just months after Walmart debuted a new Supercenter on State Road 44 in The Villages.
