MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A 62-year-old Ocala motorcyclist died as the result of a collision with a pickup truck in southern Marion County on the morning of Monday, June 22, 2026.
According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the cyclist was traveling south on CR 475 at approximately 5:50 a.m. when a pickup truck headed west on SE 178th Street stopped at the intersection before taking a wide right turn that put part of the truck in the motorcycle’s path of travel.
The motorcyclist struck the left front section of the pickup, causing him to be thrown from his vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The pickup driver, a 71-year-old man from Summerfield, sustained no injuries.
