ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Hot on the heels of reports of U.S. HWY 441 being closed in both directions around the 18000 block due to a large police presence, 352Today has learned the roadway is once again open.
According to some reports, a vehicle chase ended in the area on the afternoon of Monday, July 20, 2026, but the suspect refused to leave her vehicle, necessitating a total shutdown of the region.
As of approximately 2:00 p.m., a social media post by the Alachua County Sheriff announced that the suspect had been apprehended, and that authorities were working to reopen the highway. We’ve learned that U.S. HWY 441 has since been reopened.
