SUMMERFIELD, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Fire Rescue battled a residential structure fire on the evening of Saturday, July 25, 2026, thanks to quick action by eagle-eyed members of the community.
According to a MCFR report, multiple parties called 911 Saturday evening to report smoke coming from a home on the 8100 block of SE 131st Street in Summerfield. Spruce Creek Station #30 arrived on the scene at around 7:16 p.m. to find an approximately 3,000-square-foot structure with flames appearing above the roofline.
Battalion Chief #3 arrived on scene and began to direct arriving units as firefighters from Belleview Station #18, Villages Station #10, Weirsdale Station #27 and Shady Station #16 arrived to assist in extinguishing the blaze.
Firefighters made entry to the home through the garage door and searched the structure, and found no one inside the residence.
The fire was brought under control at approximately 7:31 p.m. without injury to first reponders or civilians. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
