MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives have filed more than 80 additional sex charges against a suspect already in custody for alleged sex crimes against minors.
According to an announcement by MCSO, 21-year-old Richard Kohn has been in custody without bond since May 28, 2026, on multiple charges including three counts of Lewd and Lascivious Battery, two counts of Lewd and Lascivious molestation, two counts of Traveling to Meet a Minor and Interference with Child Custody.
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Kohn was charged with an additional 81 crimes, including 20 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Material (CSAM), 20 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Material with Intent to Promote, 20 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, 12 counts of Transmission of Child Sexual Abuse Material, and nine counts of Possession of Pornographic Images of Sexual Activities Involving Animals.
“Following the initial arrest, [MCSO Major Crimes] Detective Lowder executed a search warrant on Kohn’s mobile device,” the announcement read, in part. “A forensic examination revealed extensive CSAM, including images and videos involving prepubescent children, identifiable local juveniles from Marion and surrounding counties, the primary victim, and images of sexual activities involving animals. Detective Lowder also uncovered evidence that Kohn recorded self-produced sexual abuse material with a juvenile and transmitted those files to other individuals, leading to the additional 81 charges.”
Kohn was originally arrested after a School Resource Officer was notified that an underage student reported engaging in sexual activity with him. After the victim’s mother discovered evidence of the illegal activity on the victim’s phone, authorities arrested Kohn in a sting when Kohn came to a location to have sex with the victim.
