MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A 43-year-old Weirsdale man died in a single-vehicle collision in Marion County early Saturday morning.

According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a pickup truck southbound on SR 25 at approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The pickup left the roadway onto the east shoulder, struck first a utility pole and then a fence, and flipped.

The driver of the vehicle was ejected during the incident.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
