DIXIE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Old Town was killed in a single-vehicle incident in Dixie County on Sunday.
According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was traveling south on U.S. HWY 19 at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2026. Just before the intersection at SW 37th Avenue, the motorcycle ran off the roadway to the west, “for an unknown reason,” according to the report.
The vehicle ran into a roadside ditch, and the rider was thrown from the motorcycle, causing fatal injuries.
The rider was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
This is at least the fourth recorded single-vehicle motorcycle fatality to occur in the 352 in 2026. Most others have occurred in Marion County.
