Fleeing suspect causes accident with injuries in Ocala

The suspect had an active warrant out of Lake County for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A suspect wanted on a warrant fled from police interaction in a vehicle, causing a collision in Ocala yesterday.

According to an announcement by the Ocala Police Department, deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office encountered a suspect in the parking lot of A&M Discount Beverage at 1898 NE 24th St. in Ocala before noon on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2026. The suspect had an active warrant for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm out of Lake County.

As deputies attempted to make contact, the suspect fled in a vehicle, reportedly nearly striking an MCSO vehicle.

Deputies pursued the vehicle, which subsequently ran a red light at the intersection of NE 25th Avenue and NE 14th Street; while running the light2, the suspect’s vehicle was struck by two cars.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment. The occupants of the other vehicles sustained only minor injuries, according to the announcement.

Ocala Fire Rescue assisted MCSO at the site of the collision until lanes were reopened.
