86-year-old Weirsdale man killed in latest fatal single-vehicle collision

The man was driving on private property in the Weirsdale area when his vehicle accelerated into a tree.

WEIRSDALE, FL (352today.com) – An 86-year-old Weirsdale man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision near the intersection of SE 175th Street and SE 130th Avenue in Marion County.

According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving on private property at around 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, when for unknown reasons his vehicle accelerated into a tree.

Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead at the scene.

This at least the 15th single-vehicle fatality recorded in North Central Florida this year. Last month, a 63-year-old woman was killed in Alachua County when her vehicle left SR 121 and struck a tree.
