MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – One person has reportedly been transported to a local hospital after a vehicle became trapped underneath a semi trailer during a collision in Citra yesterday morning.
According to an announcement on social media, Marion County Fire Rescue responded to an accident near the divergence of U.S. HWY 301 and U.S. HWY 441 in Citra at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2026. Upon arriving on the scene, responders found a passenger vehicle pinned beneath the trailer of a semi with one person trapped inside.
Firefighters immediately began an extraction. The person was extricated within a few minutes, treated on the scene, then transferred to the hospital for evaluation and further treatment.
The MFR response was augmented by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol.
