MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Another collision with injuries involving a school bus in the 352 occurred early on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, a Marion County school bus was traveling eastbound on SR 40 at around 2:50 p.m. when, after stopping at the intersection, it began to turn left onto SE 177th Ave., and into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, causing a collision.

The man driving the pickup truck, a 76-year-old from Silver Springs, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The occupants of the school bus at the time were the 55-year-old male driver and four children, “aged 5, 6, 7 and 10.” No one on the bus was reportedly injured.

There may still be some slowdown along the route due to cleanup and investigation.
