BELLEVIEW, FL (353today.com) – Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 42-year-old Belleview man earlier this week for allegedly beating up two children, aged 14 and 15, for driving an ATV in his neighborhood.

According to multiple reports, MCSO deputies responded to an incident in Belleview on Wednesday, June 8, 2026, and spoke with the two victims and a third juvenile witness. They stated they were driving an ATV on a street that had muddy puddles from the rain when Ivan Sobal left his property to confront them.

Sobal allegedly exchanged loud words with the teens before grabbing one of them by the neck and punching and kicking him. He then reportedly punched a second child.

According to deputies, at least one of the juveniles had a bloody nose and swelling.

In an earlier incident previously reported to MCSO, Sobal was accused of chasing the teens with a knife.

Sobal was arrested and charged with battery by strangulation and child abuse and transported to the Marion County jail.
