OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Michael Brown, Chief Building Inspector for the City of Ocala, has been named the 2025 Inspector of the Year by the Building Officials Association of Florida (BOAF).
This annual award highlights professionals who demonstrate outstanding dedication and leadership in the field of building safety. Brown, who joined Ocala’s Growth Management Department in 2023, was recognized for his efforts to uphold rigorous inspection standards and promote safe development citywide.
As Chief Building Inspector, Brown oversees all inspection operations, ensuring compliance with state and local codes. His work plays a key role in maintaining the structural integrity and safety of new and existing buildings throughout Ocala.
He will be formally honored during the BOAF Annual Conference and Expo on Monday, June 2.
The Building Officials Association of Florida is a nonprofit organization supporting professionals in building code enforcement through training, advocacy, and peer collaboration.
