OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Saturday, May 9, 2026, Ocala’s own Wetland Appreciation Day, and its Water Resources and Engineering Department is inviting citizens to come on out to the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park to have fun and spend some time in nature while also learning the importance and fragility of this critical regional resource.
“Have you ever wanted to tour the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park and hear directly from experts about how it helps protect our water supply?” asks a recent social media post from the city. “Take a guided tour through one of Ocala’s most unique environmental spaces, see native wildlife, explore the wetlands, and learn how the park helps recharge and protect our groundwater.”
Guided tours of this beautiful area begin at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m., but there’s more going on Saturday than a lecture disguised as a morning outdoors. From 10 a.m. until noon, Wetland Appreciation Day offers fun activities for the entire clan.
