BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – A 45-year-old man associated with an AMBER Alert issued in Marion County earlier this afternoon was reportedly shot in a confrontation with law enforcement after a pursuit.
According to information from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a red 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe mentioned in an AMBER Alert regarding the disappearance of 13-year-old Juliet Arioso was located at approximately 5:20 p.m.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled. A PIT maneuver was required to stop the vehicle, which occurred on southbound HWY 441 near CR 25A.
Castillo reportedly exchanged gunfire with officers attempting to take him into custody. He was shot and subsequently transported to an area hospital.
