LADY LAKE, FL (352today.com) – More than a year after a Lady Lake traffic stop led to the apprehension of a man on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Ten Most Wanted List, Donald Eugene Fields II has pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking.
Fields, now 61, was apprehended by the Lady Lake Police Department on January 25, 2026, during a routine traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. HWY 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road that was instigated when Lady Lake Police Sgt. Michelle Bilbrey ascertained that the vehicle’s license plate was not registered to the car it was on.
“Sometimes, an everyday traffic stop turns into a real game changer. This is a reminder that every officer, every day, is out there making a real difference,” said Lady Lake Police Chief Hunt at the time. “Every traffic stop is an opportunity for justice. What starts as a routine encounter can quickly turn into a pivotal moment, where an officer’s sharp instincts and dedication to service lead to a significant arrest–keeping our community and, in this case, the nation, safer.”
Fields, wanted for charges related to child sex trafficking, had been a fugitive since failing to appear in a Missouri court in March 2022, added to the FBI’s famous Ten Most Wanted list in May 2023.
On Thursday, April 9, 2026, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Missouri, announced that Fields pleaded guilty to one count of child sex trafficking, admitting that he “accepted items of value” from another man–currently incarcerated–in exchange for “access” to a female victim, beginning when she was 14 years old.
Fields will be sentenced July 15. The crime to which he pleaded guilty carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, and a maximum sentence of life behind bars.
